Looking for a therapist in Durango?
Getting started with therapy can be confusing and intimidating. Many people don’t know where to start. That’s why I wanted to create a welcoming, casual, and fun event to make the process of finding a therapist feel more approachable.
Last month, I partnered with the Wellness Social Club to put on “Coffee with a Counselor.” We had a casual and fun day chatting about different types of therapy and how to find a therapist who is a good fit. I taught a variety of skills such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), butterfly tapping (from EMDR), positive affirmations, progressive muscle relaxation (somatic therapy), and a releasing activity (similar to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or ACT). That way guests can sample different therapeutic styles and see which ones might interested them the most!
Colorado Telehealth Therapy
In-person therapy isn't for you? No problem. Telehealth is available for anyone in the state of Colorado. Telehealth may be more convenient for those with busy schedules, as you can easily fit a session in during your lunch break or at home while your kids are in the other room. Telehealth can also be a great way to ease into therapy for those who are feeling nervous.
